The Story
"A lovely expression of red berry fruits and natural earthy stony soil suggestions. Moderately firm tannins and a backbone of acidity deliver a wine f texture and ripeness. Fruit flavours of red and dark cherry, baking spices and some dried herb qualities sit nicely within the structure. Well-made and nearly ready with best drinking from 2025 through 2030+" Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier
Fresh, bright, and full of elegance, this Pinot Noir shows complexity and length with flavours of succulent red cherry, cinnamon, and subtle earthy undertones. The structure for this Marlborough Pinot Noir is elegant and long lasting, the perfect wine for ageing or to enjoy right away.
The Fruit for this wine was sourced primarily form the Omaka Valley in Marlborough. Machine harvested in late March, these grapes were selected when acidity and sugar levels were at their best. At the winery, the grapes were held cold before being hand plunged and gently pressed off their skins, ensuring to exact as much flavour and colour pigmentation as possible. The wine was racked off lees to a mixture New French oak and older seasoned oak barriques, where it was left to mature for 7 months. After completing a Malolactic fermentation, the wine was blended and prepared for bottling.
Food Pairing: Drinking beautifully from release, this 2022 Pinot Noir pairs well with rosemary infused lamb chops or a baby beetroot and feta salad.
