The Story
"Pristine and beautifully lifted, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, blueberry, olive and roasted nut aromas, followed by a brightly expressed palate offering juicy fruit intensity with silky texture, finishing long and succulent. At its best: now to 2027" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Mar 2023
Dark ruby in colour, this wine is silky and smooth with layered flavours of black cherry and ripe mixed berries with a hint of vanilla. Savoury toasted oak combine with dark cocoa and cedar characters to add interest and complexity. Silky tannins and well balanced acidity provide a luscious mouth-feel and lead to refined, well structured finish. Drink now or carefully cellar for up to five years from vintage date.
Grapes for this wine came from certain selected vineyards in the Hawkes Bay where they were harvested in the cool of the evening once they had reached maximum maturity. Once settled it was then racked to seasoned French oak barrels where it underwent secondary fermentation.
Food Pairing: A perfect match with beef Wellington and crispy potatoes.
