The Story

"Fruit forward and nicely lifted, the bouquet shows dark plum, raspberry, green olive and brown spice aromas, followed by a beautifully rounded palate that's ripe and smooth. Medium-bodied and delightfully drinkable. At its best: now to 2025" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2022

A vibrant Merlot bursting with dark plum, raspberry, and vanilla characters with a youthful fruit intensity and smooth texture. Harvested from a number of naturally low cropping vineyards in Marlborough, this merlot is intensely concentrated with aromas of ripe black cherries with hints of mushrooms and olives and elegantly framed by silky tannins. Drinking well now this wine will continue to develop and impress for up to five years.

The young wine was kept in contact with skins and tasted daily until the right extraction and balance was achieved then gently pressed. After aging on light lees the wine was blended, fined, balanced and carefully prepared for bottling.

Food Pairing: Beautiful with beef bourguignon with potatoes au gratin.
