The Story

"Sweet plum and cherry aromas with hints of thyme and floral lead the way to a beautifully supple palate that's succulent and smooth. It's fruit expressive and friendly for everyday drinking" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2021

Fragrant aromas of ripe black plums leap from the glass with underlying floral notes and a hint of coffee smoky oak. A fruit driven wine with flavours of blackcurrants, blackberries and vanilla. The elegant structure is supported by well-balanced acidity and a long toasty finish. Drinking well now, this wine will continue to develop for another five years.

Sourced from two low cropping sites in Marlborough’s Wairau plans and the Hawkes Bay region, the fruit was carefully monitored to ensure it was harvested at the peak of flavour development and ripeness.

The grapes were cold soaked for five days to maximise flavour and colour extraction. Following primary fermentation the wine was aged on light lees then blended, balanced and carefully prepared for bottling.

Food Pairing: A terrific match with Beef Wellington and crispy potatoes.
